No! Guns are made only for one reason which is to kill. In 2003 in the US 30,136 people had died from gunfire.

Many people say that they need guns for "protection" how would they need gun for protection if let's say someone will broke the door and shoot you, you won't even have time to run to pick up the gun where you keep in your house. Also, how many people carry gun with them "for protection"? Not many, but people who want to kill someone they will have gun with them, and you will have nothing to protect yourself. If guns will be illegal, it will be much harder for people to get the gun and try to kill others for "fun".
Another big thing that we can see for the past few years is to be killed at school. How many people had died from being killed at the campus? Many, too many! Are you carrying a gun for your protection to school? No, of course not, so how you can tell me that we need guns to protect ourself?
