Yes and no, today my view was a little persuaded, but before i was introduced to everyone else's point of views. My thoughts were negative and for the most part still are, how can we make progress in a country that has no clue what starting over new is, i still believe this war for the Iraqi's is a grudgful civil war that only the people of Iraq can over come and resolve their territorial problems with "words" and "trusting" in a government.
If the soonie and sheites keep blowing them selves up thay would have no more problems "jokingly said", senseless killing is not an answer for anything!
I do believe what some student said in class that even a negative or positive action is still progress and we have to understand that building a government wont happen in the next few years it takes decades, even hundreds of years to establish a strong government.
Im no politician, only an 18year old homeschool/college student and i can see and understand whats going on and know that its not progress that society approves of , thats why so many people stress that their is none, but in truth it is progress!
I think we are not making progress. I have lost a family member, and i really dont think its worth the lives of our solders. What are we going to get out of helping them build a government?
I don't believe we are making any progress in Iraq. Even with our troops there, the country and its political system is still in turmoil. How long has it been since we've been there? 5-6 years? Nothing but dead American soldiers and plenty of dead Iraqis. It seems to me that Bush is following the footsteps of Woodrow Wilson when it comes down to foreign policies. Establishing democracy in Iraq is just a veil to cover up the fact that we're trying to establish hegemony in the Middle East for self-serving purposes. *To dr.pepper* From my understanding, we're there to establish a stable democratic government that will view us favorably to insure our supplies of oil in the future.
