The rate at which people are haveing abortion in America is too high, but why do we realy live under the Government that protect life if they cannot protect the life of an unborn child? Those who are abort two weeks to nine month pregnant are not different from those who carry weapon to kill other people.
I think abortion should be a felony, if people cannot hold themself from haveing sex at least they should be using protection and they should remember that they are wasting life of innocent children for their own pleasure.
While I would never personally have an abortion, I completely support a woman's right to choose. It seems to me that the issue about abortion isn't so much about the legality and what the constitution says; as it is what each person believes is 'morally correct'- or what the bible says. There is a separation of church and state for a reason, so that people can't bring in their religion as one of the only reasons a law should be passed. If we listen to one persons religion, shouldn't we listen to them all? If we are going to play that game, then I guess we should all be ok with the human sacrifice rituals that some of the people of the Tantric religious sect choose to utilize because of the belief that it will help induce childbirth in a sterile couple. I agree that abortions past the age of viability should be outlawed, the child could survive on its own (past 22 weeks). If abortions are outlawed, do people really think that its going to stop? No, it's not, and then there will be more people die than ever because of abortions. Women have been practicing abortions for centuries, it's going to happen whether or not it's legal, so really, we shouldn't be so worried about whether or not it's going to happen, than if it's going to be safe or not. I find it quite comical that most of the people who I find are completely against abortion are males. Not to say that men don't have a say in unborn children's lives; but out of every single person I know that has had an abortion, or were considering one, NONE of the guys who got the girl pregnant were willing to stick around and help her out. Women who are in that position are in NO way, shape, or form to handle a child; and usually can't risk getting morning sickness, have to take off work after it's born etc, because it could cost them their job. Also, after a woman has had a child- without a husband, are looked down upon by a lot of people in our society. Does anyone else find it interesting that most of the people against abortion are also against unwed pregnancies? Someone who is like this, please explain to me- what exactly do you expect the woman who is in that sort of situation to do? If she decides to have an abortion, she is looked down upon and if she doesn't, she gets the same results. People might throw out the comment- "well don't have sex if you don't want to be in that sort of situation". - much easier said than done... the average age for Americans to have their first sexual experience is 14.9 years old... so do you honestly think that people not having sex is really an option? In schools that taught' abstinence only' programs, the youth were 1/3 more likely to not use birth control and get pregnant than those in that taught 'safe sex' programs. In conclusion, I believe that abortions should not be outlawed.

I think that abortion is wrong and people who think they are responsible enough to have sex should realize some of the outcomes might not be what they expect. No one has the right to take an innocent babies life. I understand that some people don't have a choice though, some young girls parents might make them get an abortion. But when it comes down to it, children are a blessing from God, so therefore I believe abortion is wrong.

Im going to have agree with Hayley C. I do belive that children are a blessing from God reguardless if they were planned or not. If you are reposible enough to have sex you are responsible enough to have kids. Adoption is a great option other than killing an innocent child. There are soo many ways to prevent an unexpected pregnancy such as "the day after pill", control pills, and strapping it up with a condum. Each child that was killed could have been out next president, inventor, or doctor. I think abortion is wrong any way you look at it.
